Bio:
Zezhong Wang is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the ixLab, Simon Fraser University, working with Dr. Sheelagh Carpendale. He earned his PhD in 2022 from the University of Edinburgh, where he was part of the interdisciplinary team at the Visual+Interactive Data Lab (VisHub), his doctoral research was supervised by Dr. Benjamin Bach and Dr. Dave Murray-Rust. Zezhong’s research focuses on blending design and storytelling to enhance user engagement and understanding of data. His PhD thesis, “Creating Data Comics for Data-Driven Storytelling” was awarded IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Community (VGTC) Visualization Dissertation Award Honorable Mention 2023.
